hi there!
I’m Claire, a Pasadena-born graphic designer, currently living in the no-man’s-land between Los Angeles and Orange County. I studied for my BFA in Design from Biola University, with a minor in Entrepreneurship. During the 2020 quarantine, I messed around on my iPad making whimsical designs and illustrations, which ended up getting me over 12k Instagram followers and 3000 Etsy shop sales. This phase of life made me see that graphic design was my calling, and I haven’t stopped creating since. I’ve curated, installed, and shown work in galleries, done freelance design work for film, and I’m currently working part-time as an in-house graphic designer for Biola’s Student Missionary Union.
My personal practice is deeply inspired by humor, connection, and how the mind of a graphic designer functions. This love of humor has led me to make superficially introspective work that explores the mind of a graphic designer who’s under the impression that she’s also a stand-up comedian. My aim is to be relatable to a small niche, but visually appealing enough to reach the masses and transport them into my mind. Also everything I make has bright colors so that’s fun.
